Cincinnati Bell has brought Motorola’s Milestone XT720 Android smartphone to the America. The regional operator offers the phone at $199, after rabates and discount with a 2-year contract.

The Milestone XT720, as reported before, is one of the slimmest 8 Megapixel Android phone. It features a 3.7-inch 480×854 capacitive touchscreen, CrystalTalk for background noise cancellation and better voice quality, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g, HDMI output, DLNA support, built-in GPS, 3 axis Accelerometer, and proximity sensor. Digg founder Kevin Rose claims that a tall iPod nano is in the works, featuring not only a tall screen ratio but a heavily redesigned shell. Of course, the venerable click wheel will remain, but the form factor as you can see here is rather...surprising. I guess this is a "love it or hate it" affair, and I seriously am speechless if the next nano were to look like that. I suppose it will take some time to warm up to, but what's more important is the insides of the nano 4G. Word has it the nano 4G will be aggressively priced to distant itself from the $199 iPhone as much as possible, so this would indicate iPhone sales cannibalizing iPod nano figures. Everyone knows that the HTC Dream, also known as the G1 Android smartphone, will be announced tomorrow - and before the device has even hit the ground, we already have various GPS applications ready to take advantage of the GPS feature. BreadCrumbz is one of them, allowing you to navigate simply by using features - of course, you can choose to rely on a regular map point-of-view to do so, but seems that using real life photos is much easier. In addition, you can even create custom routes that actually lead you to a specific door in a building, and should the GPS signal get cut off while navigating, BreadCrumbz is smart enough to rely on its special algorithms to get you back on track. Named Diamond J6, the Touch Diamond clone comes from China and it can easily be mistaken for a genuine HTC Pocket PC. Measuring 101 x 55 x 13 millimeters, J6 is a bit thicker than HTC’s Touch Diamond, but it still keeps the overall slim appearance. Anyway, if in terms of looks the J6 is quite close to the real Diamond, in terms of features the new device is clearly inferior to the original. Every once in a while, you may find yourself in a $2 shop, looking at plastic junk. Somewhere in amongst the endless little green army men, glittery ponies with toxic paint and velvet Elvis mirrors, you'll probably find a fake mobile phone or two. Toys, after all, have to move with the times, and the current new generation of kiddies can't be expected to get by with twine and baked bean cans forever.

Why are we bringing up fake mobile phones in a review of a phone that costs quite a bit more? Well, just as those fake mobile phones look somewhat like real mobiles but lack the critical components to make them actually functional, the i-mate JAMA 201 looks all the world like a proper Blackberry-style smartphone — except that it's lacking just about everything that you'd want in a real smartphone. Sure, it's cheap — but it's just not good enough for a real purpose.

1 - Design :

So having established what the JAMA 201's trying to do, it is worth pointing out that it certainly looks the part of a Blackberry-style smartphone, right down to the full QWERTY keyboard. Like most Blackberry clones, the keyboard is on the very small side, but then there's only so much key space you can dedicate to 113x63x14mm worth of design space. Sadly, there's still a few flaws here as well. The space bar is, even for a smartphone, pretty small whichisaproblemifyouwantoseparateoutyourwords. The keys also have a distinctly slick feel to them, which makes it all too easy to slide over the key you intended to press and mis-type.
The five-way directional pad and selection keys above the keyboard have the same slick feel problem, and it took us a lot of patient repetition to get used to the fact that only the bottom half of the selection keys work with any kind of reliability when selecting things. The USB connector — for both charging and data transfer — hides behind a very solid rubber cap that is hard to remove. It was exasperating to open when we needed to, and we have this feeling it'll probably tear off most JAMA 201s rather quickly, even if only accidentally.

2 - Features :

The JAMA 201 is a Windows Mobile 6 smartphone running on a 300MHz Samsung processor with 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM. That's not a particularly stunning combination for running Windows Mobile 6 applications, but the average news doesn't end there. Critically for a modern smartphone, it lacks any kind of 3G connectivity; this is strictly a tri-band (900/1800/1900) GSM phone. The practical upshot of that? You need to hope and pray that nobody sends you any particularly large emails, and browsing intensive websites — like, for example, i-mate's own flash-heavy offering — is an exercise in extreme patience. The JAMA 201 is Bluetooth capable, but has no inbuilt Wi-Fi. It has USB connectivity — but it's only USB 1.1, continuing the slow theme.

3 - Performance :

If you've read the features paragraph — and if you haven't, shame on you for skipping ahead — you're probably not going to be too shocked when we say that the JAMA 201's performance was on the sluggish side. Both basic Windows Mobile 6 applications, and even the interface itself was slow, which you'd expect on such a rudimentary processor. In combination with the lack of 3G data speeds, however, the 201 slips into the annoyingly slow bracket for most of the pertinent applications you're likely to want to use a smartphone for.

Like most smartphones, the actual mobile telephony part of the JAMA 201 is almost an afterthought, with the dialling panel being fairly small and the inbuilt speaker quite tinny. As with most phones of this size, working out optimal ear placement can also be a challenge. The JAMA 201 is rated with a battery life of up to four hours talk time and up to 150 hours standby. On moderate usage, we managed four days before battery levels got woeful, which is presumably at least partially a function of the lower power requirements of GSM and the lack of Wi-Fi.

The JAMA 201 does represent a challenge to the smartphone market in that it brings an unlocked Windows Mobile 6 platform to market for only $489. It's just that in doing so, it makes so many compromises, and strips so much out of what we'd want from a real smartphone along the way as to render itself functionally redundant.

First up – new games join the veritable arcade already on offer in Ovi Store. Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster, Zen-bound, Angry Birds (level pack), Sygic, Kroll, Weatherbug, and GoGadget are all available to keep you entertained. Important to note though that Ovi Store will do a full switchover this week Thursday, May 27, so these games and other for-purchase apps will show up then.

Next are the improvements to communication. Email has been improved with the ability to accept or decline an event invitation right there in your inbox, and Facebook IM chat has also been bundled in. The release also brings with it video calling, allowing users face-to-face chatting anywhere.

An additional update you will be pleased to hear about is portrait browsing on the internet is a-go on the N900. Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is surely one of the most interesting packages to look out for at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. With a specs sheet like that it's hardly a surprise but we cannot quite get Samsung's choice of name. There was nothing wrong with the original Omnia but reusing a name is not exactly suggestive of revolutionary. Oh, and don't get us started on the superscript. It may look cool and all, but just go ahead and google OmniaHD.
With the following preview we did our best to provide you with as much information as possible for the very short time we spent with the handset. Since our unit is at the very early stages of development we would focus mainly on the hardware and ergonomics as the software is well in need of getting polished. By the way, we've already reviewed the Symbian S60 5th edition touch user interface with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, so you should already know the basics.

1 . Design

If you sat this year's touchscreen smartphones side-by-side we think the HTC Diamond2 would be one of the stand-outs. Unlike the majority of those handsets in this segment, the Diamond2 uses glossy piano-black plastic sparingly, replacing black plastic around the screen with sexy stainless steel. Its all-important touchscreen measures 3.2 inches diagonally and features an impressive WVGA resolution (800x480 pixels).

The positioning of the external components is strongly reminiscent of its predecessor from last year; the camera is in a high central position on the back, the stylus on the lower right corner. There's no 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a shame, with the bundled headphones plugging into the charging port on the base of the handset.

As a company, HTC regularly remind us about its focus on innovation, and there's one new feature on the Touch Diamond2 that is new, not only to HTC phones, but to smartphones in general. Between the bottom of the screen and a strip of mechanical keys, HTC has designed a magnification touch panel. In nearly all other touchscreen smartphones, zooming on web pages or captured images is performed by tapping once or repeatedly on the screen, or by recognition of finger gestures. HTC removes the awkwardness of these alternatives with this excellent idea. Swipe your finger left to right and the image zooms in, reverse the direction and the image zooms out — no more accidentally clicking on hyperlinks when trying to enlarge the text on a website.

If only HTC focused some of this innovation to a few key basics; namely the on-screen keyboard. Unlike the very usable keyboard in the Android-based HTC Magic, the tiny, tiny keys found in the Diamond2 have us longing for the slide-out keyboard in the HTC Touch Pro2. There's a stylus sheathed on the side of the handset, which may help, but it's called a touchscreen for a reason and we'd prefer to use our fingers where possible.

2 . Features

For a business user, the Touch Diamond2 includes the most important connectivity hardware and a raft of decent software as well. HSDPA data transfers up to 7.2Mbps, Wi-Fi and GPS are included, with an Opera web browser and Google Maps pre-installed. There is, of course, Microsoft ActivSync with support for MS Exchange email servers plus the basics like quad-band GSM support and Bluetooth. Different from the original, the Diamond2 now supports HSUPA data transfers for fast uploads over the 3G network.

For consumer users, as in people who use their phone as a camera or to play music, the Touch Diamond2 is average. The camera shoots 5-megapixel images and has auto-focus, but no flash. The software features a decent range of settings to fiddle with, including some really amusing image themes or funny cartoon borders. There is no mechanical camera key on the edge of the handset, instead you fire the shutter using an on-screen button like with the iPhone.

Media playback is OK, but those interested in using the Diamond2 as their portable media player will need to fork out for a few extras, namely a microSD card to expand the paltry 512MB of memory shared with the system and a 3.5mm headphone adapter. The Windows Media app is fine for playing streaming and stored media, and the YouTube app we saw in the HTC Touch HD is one of the best ways to watch YouTube on a phone.

3 . TouchFLO 3D

Each new HTC release in the last year has brought with it advancements to HTC's excellent TouchFLO 3D user interface (UI). HTC has designed this UI not only to disguise the sad-looking Windows Mobile interface, but also to add much needed usability for its customers. Certain simple tasks, like switching on Wi-Fi scanning, can take several dips into the phone's menu to activate, while TouchFLO 3D puts this setting only two steps from the home screen.

You might notice some small design enhancements when compared with the version of TouchFLO 3D we saw on the Touch Diamond last year. But more importantly we're seeing better integration of common applications. Combined contact details and recent calls and messaging information is a great example — HTC calls this People Centric Communication. When you select a contact from your address book you see the person's name and details as per usual, but you also have three additional tabs available in this window; SMS messages, emails and recent call history. During a call you can easily scan back through old messages, instead of hanging up and calling them back after you've re-read this contact's previous messages.

We found another example of this integration in the HTC Calendar. The Touch Diamond2 includes a calendar skin for the WinMo one, which in itself is great, but if you update the weather using the TouchFLO 3D weather pane, then the forecasted weather for that day is included with your appointments. So if your weekend reads "Picnic with grandma" but the forecast is 15 degrees and raining you can re-plan your outing in advance. This is one of those fantastic "why didn't someone think of this before" evolutions of the sorts of apps we see on every new phone.

4 . Performance

Processing performance is what we watch most closely when reviewing a Windows Mobile smartphone, but thankfully the Touch Diamond2 passes muster with a mostly excellent user experience. The real trick when using the Diamond2, as it is with all Windows Mobile handsets, is you have to keep an eye on the phone's memory and how it is being used. From the home screen you can access a list of currently running apps by selecting the icon on the top right of the screen that looks like three bars and an arrow pointing down. If there are apps running in the background then you really should close them if you're not using them to maintain speedy navigation around the phone's menus and features. If you ignore this list and too many apps are running you can expect to hit some tedious lag spikes.

Road warriors will be happy to hear that battery life in the Diamond2 is better than we saw in last year's model. This time a year ago we described the Diamond's battery life as "appalling", not so in 2009. We've easily made it through a full day and well into the second day before the Diamond2 needed recharging. Our usage included standard calling and messaging plus a nearly constant Wi-Fi connect, web browsing and push email.

5 . Overall

HTC has once again delivered a phone incrementally better than what we've seen from this Taiwanese company before. HTC isn't making any giant leaps forward with its Windows Mobile offerings, but never fails to tweak and improve its range in some key areas. The Diamond2 is faster than the Diamond from a year ago, its battery lasts longer, and HTC's TouchFLO 3D enhancements make this phone much easier to use than its predecessors. Any reservations we have left about the Diamond2 refer to usability rather than functionality. The tiny keyboard significantly slows down input, and the user interface can lag to a stand-still if you don't keep an eye on the phone's performance — a job you really shouldn't be responsible for. Both issues could be overcome with practice, and if you're willing to put the work in then we recommend this phone — there are few WiMo smartphones sexier than the Touch Diamond2.

6 . I hope that they may have benefited

It was fun while it lasted. Google has scrapped the direct online sale of the Nexus One. The bold new idea for selling mobile phones failed to set the world on fire, so the Nexus One will only be available from traditional outlets in the future.

Andy Rubin, Google's engineering VP, announced the news in an official blog post. The Nexus One had two goals, he wrote, "to introduce a beacon of innovation among Android handsets, and to make it quick and easy for people to buy an Android phone." The first was successful -- CNET UK called it the "theiPhone killer you've been waiting for" and gave it an Editors' Choice award -- but the second not so much. The Nexus One Web store has "remained a niche channel for early adopters," Rubin admitted.

The advantage of buying direct is you get a top-end handset without being forced to go with whatever network the phone is tied to. That means you can choose from any deal you like, rather than being locked into expensive or lengthy contracts. But buying from the Web store meant paying a lot up front and taking a punt on a phone you'd never handled in the flesh -- especially risky as it involved buying from the US.

Google acknowledges that customers want "hands-on experience before buying", and concedes that users "also want a wide range of service plans to chose from". We imagine the phone networks feel the same, as direct sale threatens their ability to use premium phones to lock users into long-term contracts.

Let's hope that wide range of options happens soon, because for now the Nexus One is only available through Vodafone, and only on 18-month or two-year contracts. So this is what the failure of direct sales leaves us with. Brilliant. Google has committed to increasing the number of Nexus Ones in the marketplace, so fingers crossed someone offers it on a shorter contract.

The new upcoming phones from Apple and HTC, respectively, are flagships of their respective brands.

There are a number of differences between the two handsets. The specs indicate that the iPhone 4G displays at 960x 640 HD screen, meanwhile the EVO's screen displays 480x800 pixels. There's a huge difference in weight, the EVO stands at 170g and the iPhone 4G weights in at 140g.

The EVO 4G has next-gen data connectivity, and not just 4G in name. The EVO has a WiMAX which is a steroid version of Wi-Fi, where download speeds can run up to 10Mbps. The iPhone 4G retains its HSDPA data connectivity.

The internal memory for the EVO relies on microSD Card which goes up to 32GB and a 1GB internal memory. The iPhone 4G has a much larger 60 to 80GB internal memory. The EVO 4G has an 8.3 megapixel camera, and the iPhone sports a 5.0 megapixel camera.

The iPhone 4G is loaded with the iPhone OS 4.0, meanwhile the EVO 4G is loaded with Android 2.1.

Both devices are pending arrival and although none of the specs are confirmed, it boils down to whether you need ultra-fast downloads or Apple’s tried-and-true UI. In either case, we look forward to the both of them blowing our minds away.

Sprint HTC EVO 4G

WiMAX 4G + 3G + Wi-Fi, touchscreen candybar, 8.3 megapixel camera, 1GB internal Memory, 32GB microSD card

Sprint officially announced the HTC EVO 4G, the dual-branded phone will be released summer and it rocks a 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD, with a Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor, and 1GB of built-in memory and 512MB of RAM. The camera is an 8.3 megapixel with flash, that's capable of 720p video, there’s also a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. The device itself is powered by Google Android 2.1.

If you wondering about 4G, Sprint will be the carrier supporting WiMAX, and is already live in 27 cities, and has more plans to extend throughout North America. The device will be to handle some serious download speeds, as soon as Sprint announces their WiMAX plan that is.

The EVO 4G has HDMI out, Wi-Fi, and an 8GB microSD card. A-GPS with Sprint Navigation, seven home screens, and a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB. Other physical controls include a 3.5mm headset hack, a micro-USB port, a power control, and a volume rocker. The EVO also can function as a hot spot for up to eight devices.

The phone is slated to go on sale June 4th 2010.

The new hardware includes, a front-facing video chat camera, Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS), camera flash, Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad), and an Improved display.

The phone itself saw quite a few changes- a flat back, an aluminium border around the phone, it is also smaller than the 3GS, has a 16% larger battery and smaller components.

No confirmation about the 960x640 display as of now, but Gizmodo is saying "it certainly looks like it". The iPhone 4G supposedly a secondary microphone for noise cancellation, split buttons for volume, Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic.

Note that these are not the final, confirmed specs. The phone is expected to be announced in June at Apple’s WWDC.

It took a little Magic and a Dream but Android eventually got a Hero to champion the OS. Now, the HTC Legend comes in an aluminum suit of armor to join the ranks of the Android army. So, is this knight in shining armor set to be the vanguard of the explosive growth of Android?

The predecessor of the HTC Legend, the Hero, pioneered Sense UI and this latest gadget follows suit, but brings some innovation of its own.

The HTC Legend borrows a page from high-end laptop design – the aluminum unibody. The unibody design was touted as a game-changing breakthrough when it hit the laptop market. A lot of that was marketing hype, but the fact is that unibody metal designs still have a distinct quality feel to them.

The aluminum body isn’t the only hardware upgrade the Legend got over the Hero, the TFT display technology has been switched in favor of AMOLED and that’s not all. Some of the other specs have alos received a refresh.

Despite trading plastic for metal, the Legend is actually slimmer around the waist than the Hero – it’s just 11.5mm thick and it’s a pinch lighter too. Something that will evoke either a positive or negative response depending on the person is the move to an optical trackpad instead of the tried and true trackball.

As you can see the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S specs sheet is long enough to be considered high-end. What’s even better is that it manages to put something on top, namely the large 4” Super AMOLED display, which should become the new thing to beat if it has the performance of the Samsung S8500 Wave unit.

The TouchWiz-like Android customization still had some performance issues on the Galaxy Spica so we will have to see if those are fixed for the Galaxy S. We are also yet to check out how the new 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8 CPU compares to its Snapdragon peers in the Android environment, but we have a good feeling about it.

At any rate the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is a fine piece of mobile technology and we are as eager as you to see if it will actually manage to top the charts or end up in the chasing pack. So let’s not waste any more time and head to the hardware part of the preview where we’ll examine the Galaxy S ergonomics.

Palm Pre Plus is hitting AT&T US stores this Sunday

If you're an AT&T user and you're holding out for one of those new Palm phones, then your wait is just about over. AT&T and Palm have announced that the Palm Pre Plus is coming to stores by the end of the week.

The AT&T site has touting the coming of the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus but now they've committed to a specific date, for the Pre Plus at least - it's coming on May 16th.

The Palm Pre Plus is slated for 149.99 US dollars on a contract and after a mail-in rebate. As a limited time offer, customers will get a Palm Touchstone charging dock for free (a Touchstone kit runs about 40 dollars).

The promo page mentions access to AT&T's Wi-Fi hotspots, but the Facebook post, which is the source behind this info, doesn't elaborate on that.

But the beefed up version of the Palm Pre should be in AT&T retail stores and online this Sunday. As for the Palm Pixi Plus there's no word yet on when it's coming. We'll hardly miss it though!

Android-running Motorola FLIPOUT spotted in the wild

Motorola FLIPOUT seems to be another social-oriented smartphone with clever design and flipping QWERTY keyboard. It runs Android 2.1 and features the latest MOTOBLUR UI.

It seems the BLACKFLIP sells good enough, because Motorola are on the way to release another strange QWERTY-packed device. The quadratic FLIPOUT is still unannounced but today's leak reveals a device with swiveling QWERTY pad that despite the smallish size, manages to pack all the needed keys plus a D-pad.

The rest of the FLIPOUT specs are rumored to be a 3 megapixel Kodak camera, a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 700 MHz processor, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM plus a microSD card slot. More advanced wireless connectivity options - Wi-Fi and 3G - won't be supported.

Android 2.1 enhanced with the latest MOTOBLUR UI 1.5 supporting Live Widgets will power the FLIPOUT.

All this information is based on a reliable source according to Gizmodo Brazil and Motorola FLIPOUT is expected to launch in mid-June. The rumored price for the unlocked device with pre-paid plan is 310 euro.

We hope the FLIPOUT is not bound for Brazil only as several other manufacturers have dedicated products for the Brazilian market.

Motorola coming to UK, 8MP camera, 720p, Android 2.1

he Motorola Sholes rumors flip-flopped between specs and countries, but it turns out there are several versions. One with 8MP camera and 720p video recording is coming to the UK with some other specs updates as well, compared to the South Korea-bound MOTOROI.

We've seen this specific model under quite a few different names. First, it was the Motorola Sholes Tablet in a roadmap, then the XT701 for China, then of course the MOTOROI for South Korea. They all had specs variations - in the camera department mostly.

Now, Motorola have confirmed that another variant on the XT701 / MOTOROI recipe will be coming to the UK - but with an 8MP camera rather than 5MP, while still keeping the 720p video recording and the xenon flash.

The UK version of the MOTOROI will feature a faster CPU (no specific frequency was mentioned though). Other notable features include the mini-HDMI port, Android 2.1, the MOTOBLUR interface (carriers can choose not to use it though) and faster HSPA.

The new Motorola Sholes or whatever they name it should help Motorola fight off high-end Android handsets from HTC and Sony Ericsson, which offer faster CPUs and better cameras than the Motorola MILESTONE.

Opera Mobile 10 lands on Maemo thanks to pro hobbyists

Android is able to run on iPhone 3G too

Remember a few weeks ago, when David "planetbeing" Wang member of the iPhone Dev Team, ported the Android to the iPhone 2G. He one-upped that by now porting the Android OS to the iPhone 3G.

Most of the functions and features are retained but the browser's functions according the "planetbeing". "It doesn't work completely smoothly, but it works rather well," he said. Also, the audio has yet to be ported into the Linux kernel.

The ported OS will be ready in a few days, as the final build in getting packed. In the meantime, watch the tech demo.

HTC announces Legend, RM 1,999

The HTC Legend will be the few handsets sporting the new 2.1 Android, the device sports a 3.2 AMOLED capacitive screen, with 320 x 480 HVGA resolution. There’s also an optical joystick as to navigate the screen.

There’s a Qualcomm 600 MHz processor, with 512 ROM and 384 RAM with quad-band GSM and dual-band 7.2 HSDPA. The device also supports GPRS/EDGE and Wi-Fi. Other features include, GPS, Google Maps and HTC footprints geotagging software.

There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and it supports Bluetooth 2.1. There’s also a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash.

The Legend is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,999 and the retail package will come with a 2GB microSD card.

HTC HD Mini and Smart available for RM 1,799 and RM 799

HTC also announced the HD Mini, a compact version of the HD2, armed with Windows Mobile 6.5. The HTC Sense UI is also designed on top of WinMO. There’s a 3.2 capacitive touchscreen, and a Qualcomm 600 MHz processor, with 512 ROM and 384 RAM with quad-band GSM and dual-band 7.2 HSDPA. The device also supports GPRS/EDGE and Wi-Fi. Other features include GPS, and HTC footprints geotagging software.

Expect a 5.0 meagapixel camera with autofocus, and a whole bunch of social networking apps. Windows marketplace is also supported, so you can purchase additional apps.

HD Smart

Meanwhile, the affordable HTC Smart uses Qualcomm’s Brew MP OS, there’s also HTC Sense in there. There’s 2.8 inch resistive touchscreen, with quad-band GSM connectivity and 3.6 HSDPA. There’s also a 3.0 megapixel camera with fixed focus and flashlight. And there are applications such as Facebook, Weather, Facebook and Twitter.

Both phones are available now in Malaysia. The HTC HD Mini and Smart are available for RM 1,799 and RM 799, respectively.

Nokia Sue Apple iPad 3G APP Phone

Nokia ongoing legal spat with Apple took a turn for the worse tablets today with the news that the Finnish company are putting their lawyers on IPAD WiFi and 3G iPhone. According to a press release Nokia, the company alleges that Apple has encroached on the five “important” patents on “the floor and increased data transmission, using location data in applications and innovations in configurations antenna”.

These patents, after Nokia, are helping to make these small devices, with improved performance and design. “We have taken this step to protect the results of our development pioneer,” said Paul Melin, Director General of patent license to the company, “and put an end to the illegal use continued innovation from Nokia” .

Indeed, Nokia estimated that they spent 40 billion € in R & D over the past 20 years, and they think Apple is trampling all over it with their big boots i-prefix. Previously, it was alleged that Apple violated patents with all their phones, music players and Apple computers are also quite a current combination cons Nokia has alleged that the Finns “have to compete with us in inventing their own technologies and not only by stealing ours”.

iPhone 4G Concept by tob!s, Neat and Simplistic Design

Call me crazy, but there’s something about this Iphone 4G design that screams “Asian” about it… not that it’s something bad or anything, but I would clearly see Toshiba or Meizu creating such a device. The iPhone 4G concept you can check out below was created by Esato board user tob!s.

Its design is very simple and clean, keeping with the previous iPhone versions, only this time the rounded edges are almost square-ish and the handset gets the same 32GB storage space of the 3GS version. I’m guessing that the camera has been improved and that the “4G” stands for WiMAX/LTE support, right?

Sony Ericsson Rachael is just another one of the upcoming XPERIA handsets and thanks to Esato board user tob!s we get to see how it would look like on the iPhone 3G. The images below show the Rachael UI on Apple’s previous-gen handset, plus there’s a video below to demo it.

I’m guessing it’s all video/photo editing stuff, since I have a hard time believing that the interface was already leaked, but who knows, right? tob!s did a wonderful job and I wonder what would happen if Sony Ericsson launched a device with HTC’s Sense UI on board and Android OS, too.
