Nokia’s first TD-SCDMA phone 6788 released for China Mobile

Nokia has released its first TD-SCDMA-6788 for China Mobile which is a clear attempt to conquer the Chinese market-a place full of opportunities for growth given its astoundingly large consumer base. To lure in Chinese buyers, Nokia has used traditional Chinese furniture and architecture inspired patterns on the back of the slide and the battery cover.

The TD-SCDMA 6788 runs Symbian S60 so it belongs to the smartphone category but it comes with a fairly ordinary 2.-inch QVGA display. On the rear is a 5MP camera (probably the only highlight of the phone) assisted with a dual LED flash and autofocus technology. The phone also comes with support for a microSD card which means it gives you ample content storage opportunity.

Nokia is targeting the successful evolution of 3G in China with the TD-SCDMA 3G enabled handset and it is committed to introduce more TD-SCDMA phones in the near future to further boost the 3G standard in China. The 6788 TD-SCDMA is arriving in December though the price is has still not been revealed.
