As the blog suggests, the home page bears a new redesigned appearance. The navigation is also altered for users to gain quicker access to common searches like Traffic and Movies. The other feature is noted to be turn-by-turn navigation fashioned for the Windows 6.x phones which is powered by Bing Maps. The Microsoft Tellme team was consulted for voice application used on the navigation. This inclusion can be exploited on Windows phones that employ T-Mobile, Sprint or AT&T services.
When the new ‘Navigate’ button is clicked, Bing will calculate the route and guide users as they drive. They can opt for the quickest or shortest route, get a map or a list of directions, see arrows and gain alerts on which way to turn. They can also choose to avert tolls and traffic routes.
The navigation feature offered with the updates Bing App is compatible with a host of phones. These include HTC models such as Fuze, Pure, HD2, Tilt 2, Touch Diamond 2, Touch HD, Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2. It also works with T-Mobile Dash 3G, Justin Jed as well as Samsung Jack, Propel and Omnia II handsets.
