China Mobile gets the LG GW880 Android Phone

Android sure is the buzz word in the world of smartphones and more often than not, most of these Android phones are heading to China Mobile (for some unknown reason). Speaking of China Mobile these guys have their own Android version of Google OS, dubbed the OPhone platform. And speaking of the OPhone platform is exactly what powers the new LG GW880 — the company’s first Android smartphone.

Expected to release sometime soon as a low cost competitor to Apple’s iPhone, the new LG GW880 comes with a bunch of features that include a 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display, has 512 MB ROM/256MB RAM, adds a 5 megapixel camera for accurate images and sports GPS abilities so that you don’t get lost while wandering the streets in Beijing.

The biggest drawback of the new LG GW880 is that it runs on China Mobile’s custom Android platform and that doesn’t come with Wi-Fi connectivity. Hence why the GW880 will come packed with Bluetooth …
