Sony Ericsson Rachael UI Shown in Action on iPhone 3G Screen

  • Sony Ericsson Rachael is just another one of the upcoming XPERIA handsets and thanks to Esato board user tob!s we get to see how it would look like on the iPhone 3G. The images below show the Rachael UI on Apple’s previous-gen handset, plus there’s a video below to demo it.

Sony Ericsson Rachael UI Shown in Action on iPhone 3G Screen

I’m guessing it’s all video/photo editing stuff, since I have a hard time believing that the interface was already leaked, but who knows, right? tob!s did a wonderful job and I wonder what would happen if Sony Ericsson launched a device with HTC’s Sense UI on board and Android OS, too.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Incorporates a PSP and What Not

The XPERIA X10 concept phone was created by Esato forum user Tigershark42 and is pretty much the dream of every geek out there. It’s a hybrid between a PSP Console and the already famous Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, using 3 slide modes and running UIQ.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Incorporates a PSP and What Not

First comes the classical top-bottom slide, than the slide of the top part to the left in order to reveal a landscape QWERTY keyboard and finally there’s the right slide that gives the user access to PSP-Like gaming controls. The phone also uses an arc-slider mechanism that improves the viewing angle and comes with a stylus.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Incorporates a PSP and What Not

In case you were wondering about the specs of the XPERIA X10 here they are: 3″ VGA or WVGA touchscreen, quadband GSM, WLAN b/g, HSDPA/HSUPA, aGPS, accelerometer, a 5.0 megapixels camera (with Xenon flash), a QWERTY keyboard, a VGA camera upfront and 8 gigs of internal memory.

That’s not all, as the handset also includes an M2 slot, uses Opera 9.5 for browsing, Flash Lite 3 and gaming functionality.

Telstra launches Xperia X10 on 4 May

Just yesterday we learned that all of the major Australian carriers would be stocking the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 smartphone. Telstra seem to be first out of the block to offer firm pricing and availability details.

The X10 will hit Telstra on Tuesday 4th May and will cost $1,099 sim-free or from $99/month on contract. This will get you the phone for free but with no bundled data options. A bolt-on ‘Browsing Pack’ will cost you $5 for 5MB, $10 for 150MB or $29 for 300MB.

Another plan offers a measly 150MB of data per month and will cost you $110/month plan on a 24-month contract. For those wondering about carrier customisation, Telstra has customised the MediaScape app to include links to tracks and albums on the BigPond Music service.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 "Unboxing"

To continue on what has become a good tradition it’s now time for unboxing of XPERIA X10 now when we have our first commercial samples here in the office. This time Gustaf is on vacation so my friend MÃ¥rten helped me out instead. We show the boxes for both colors of XPERIA X10 and also show a bit of what to expect in the box. We also tried to show a bit more of what the boxes look like since I guess most of you have seen quite a few videos of the phone by now :-)

The clip is shot with Vivaz so to get an HD-experience remember to click Watch on YouTube and select 720p. (This will also show a bit on the continous auto focus working, it struggles a bit from time to time in indoor lighting but I think it does quite a good job! This time I also set white balance manually)

As for the earlier unboxings I’d like to remind about the fact that kit content differs between markets and service providers so there might be more things in the kit that will be available on your market.

Sony Ericsson X10 In Australia

telstra-xperia-x10For Aussies awaiting Androids, they’ll get a infusion on May 4th when Telstra launches the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. To get it you’ll have to hand-over a handsome sum of money, signing up for the $110 Ultimate plan on a 2-year contract, a total of $2,640. Of course you can always purchase it outright for $1099. Don’t forget these are Australian dollars, but converted to USD it isn’t that far off – the $1,099 is about $1,020 USD.

But if you get it on contract, you don’t need to do any currency conversions to calculate zero! Here is the full press release:

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 ready for a Q4 Release

Sony Ericsson has literally tormented its fanatics with the release of the XPERIA X2 as it did take a long time coming after a series of teaser videos and images. The good news is that the release date of the XPERIA X2 has been finally confirmed for the fourth quarter of this year.

sony-ericsson-xperia-x2-launching-in-q4-2009

There were already a lot of speculations regarding the features of this phone and there is not much to choose between them and the confirmed spec sheet. The XPERIA X2 will come with an 8.1 MP camera and a slot for a 4GB microSD card. What the users will adore this time around are 13-pre-loaded panels for the revised Windows Mobile Skin. Each panel is tagged along with a different function right from viewing videos to surfing the web.

Sony Ericsson hasn’t disappointed us with the OS either as the WinMo 6.5 does find a place in this X1 upgrade. Sony is currently in talks with various carriers and we will soon know which carrier eventually sells this worthy smartphone.

Sony Ericsson Z750 HSDPA handset

sony ericsson z750 pinkCTIA 2007 -- The Sony Ericsson Z750 is a newHSDPA handset targeted at North America. What that really means, though not technically announced, is it's destined for AT&T (Cingular). While the 3G connectivity is surely big news (it's Sony Ericsson's first HSDPA phone for North America), the Z750 is also one of only a few consumer focused handsets to support Exchange ActiveSync push email. In addition, the Z750 is Sony Ericsson's first handset based on the Java Platform 8. That should make it easier for developers to create innovative applications.

Features of the Sony Ericsson Z750 include:

  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE plus tri-band HSDPA(850/1900/2100)
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Memory Stick Micro M2 card slot
  • Bluetooth 2.0 EDR + with A2DP stereo support
  • QVGA screen with 262k colors
  • POP3/IMAP4/Exchange email support
  • Full HTML browser with RSS

Sony Ericsson K660 and W580 dished out in new colors

Sony Ericsson K660 and W580 dished out in new colors

Sony Ericsson K660 and W580Sony Ericsson's sneaking two new colors for two of its mid-market handsets, the W580 and the K660. If you recall, the Sony Ericsson K660 was released a while back with a touch of magenta on its navigational pad section. And now SE is rolling it out with two new paint jobs, one being Cyan on Black while the other is Silver on Black. This will definitely reinforce the status of the handset as one "for the kids" and of course one can expect that these newly-colored handsets will have the same specs as the old one as this is purely an external makeover.

The Sony Ericsson W580, meanwhile, is also getting an additional color for its range, which is Velvet Red, a bright variant of the plain color red. Like the K660, nothing will change with the features and specs of the W580 so old-users who decide on taking the new models at face value will definitely feel at home.
