Sony Ericsson Aino arrives in the US as an unlocked phone

  • When the Sony Ericsson Aino first passed the FCC approval supporting 850/1900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA connectivity it was being speculated that AT&T will be the carrier to endorse it. It now turns out that the Aino will be sold in the US as an unlocked phone which will bear a hefty price tag of $599.99. It will still run on the AT&T 3G network and will be available through the SonyStyle online shop.

  • The Aino features a 3 inch TFT touchscreen display (240 x 432 pixels) and an interesting sliding alphanumeric keypad which lets you use the phone as a remote controller for the PS3 gaming console. On the rear of the phone is an 8MP camera with LED and it lets you records VGA quality videos at 30 frames per second.
  • Aino furnishes GPS with Google Maps and you can also seek hotspots through the Wi-Fi integration. As far as the memory goes, Aino supports a max. 8GB microSD card. The phone is currently out of stock but you can still place your order and the phone will arrive as the stocks get refilled.
